In recent years technologies have advanced at breakneck speeds, and this is more than evident in the field of robotics. In today’s society, robots are becoming ever more prevalent and play a significant role in industry and education, whilst affordability and accessibility now ensures that many robots are used for recreational purposes.
In particular, the Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) has a niche in many service and hospitality applications whilst also offering significant benefits to the mining and agricultural sectors -amongst many, and is often the starting point for robotics education.
At MiRobot we have a range of AMRs, but perhaps our standout item is the Unitree Z1 Pro, a next generation, lightweight robotic arm that can be utilised independently as a desktop robot where it can perform useful functions such as pouring drinks, or alternatively it can be attached to the chassis of an AMR, either wheeled or quadruped which expands the scope of applications for which it can be used. With 6 axis and precise control thanks to a harmonic actuator the Z1 Pro robot arm can also be incorporated into assembly lines.
Many schools and universities provide courses in robotics and in doing so contribute to the overall research and development within the field, and for those new to the subject with little or no experience of the ROS compatible robot, the Codebot is considered to be an ideal choice when looking for an education robot, it has a compact design and is virtually ready to go out of the box, and importantly, is at a very attractive price point. In a similar vein the Trackbot is an AMR designed primarily for research and development but is also an excellent robot for rapid prototyping for specific needs.
Another robot that is well suited for prototyping is the Transbot, powered by Jetson Orin and loaded with sophisticated software, this has been created with the function of an outdoor delivery and transport robot in mind. Capable of taking payloads of up to 22kg and able to ascend and descend slopes of 300 with a maximum speed of nearly 9kmh, the Transbot is a powerful robot able to fulfil a wide array of tasks. For professional use. The Autobot with 3D LiDAR amongst its excellent navigational software, is programmable via GPS and is a superb choice for a multitude of autonomous driving applications such as room service in hotels.
Camerabot, featuring omnidirectional wheels can rotate through 3600 and is able to navigate through crowds, can take snapshots or record video of you or your subject matter remotely and with a generous 4-hour battery life has proven to be a success at weddings and similar public events and can be purchased bundled with a tripod and gimbal.
When you are looking for a STEM robot for education and research or a service robot that is virtually ready to use upon receipt - with the benefits of AgileX and MiROS , then MiRobot can provide the robot – and technical support that you require.
There is no getting away from the ever-increasing role that robots play in our society, many are already used in manufacturing processes and within other industries such as agriculture, mining and hospitality, so it is little surprise that robotics features heavily in education and research these days.
MiRobot supply a range of innovative and groundbreaking robots, and whether you are in need of a mobile robot or a robot arm for development they will surely meet your needs. Amongst the mobile robots you will find the outstanding AgileX Scout 2 alongside the Limo ROS 2 and Trackbot, suitable for many applications, and the leading desktop robot, the Unitree ZI Pro.
ROS is the most widely used operating system around the world and the ROS compatible robot is ubiquitous, and thus the advent of MiROS, an easy to programme and fast to install ROS Development Kit that features drag and drop coding and negates the need for a virtual machine is sure to be popular with those who use robotics for education and research purposes. In particular the Codebot, with its entry level price is an ideal education robot, having been designed specifically for this purpose.
If you need a STEM robot for students at your educational facility, a service robot for your hotel or restaurant, a serios platform for further development or simply a robot with which you can have fun and entertainment don’t hesitate to contact MiRobot who offer a full range of robots at competitive prices with excellent service.
Robots are more or less ubiquitous these days, found in educational facilities, widely used in industry, found in domestic residences and utilised in many social applications, and with continuing advances in the world of robotics, their use will become even more widespread.
At MiRobot we supply a wide range of robots, many providing a solid foundation ideally suited for further development, whether for commercial or simply educational purposes. Our most affordable robot is MyCobot, a very compact 6 axis desktop robot that you will find to be an exceptional tool in the field of AI education as well as being very well matched for personal projects.
Within the genre of AGV (Automated Guided Vehicles) is the AgileX Mini Scout, a four-wheel drive, all-terrain vehicle which can be rapidly prototyped and developed for use in situations that may be hazardous to humans, such as where there may be chemical contamination as well as countless other applications where it can be simply programmed to navigate with GPS will be of benefit.
Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMV) are represented by the Autobot, the versatile and durable package, which again is ready for timely prototyping for projects and applications where the sophisticated software and hardware are excellent for outdoor use.
Furthermore, at MiRobot we can introduce you to MiROS, a web based VM free ROS programming tool that provides a straightforward and fast option for programming that can potentially save you not just time but money too.

Unitree, widely considered as one of the global leaders in the field of development of civilian robots specialises in the production of humanoid and quadruped robots, and was actually the first company to openly sell high performance dog robots, the current incarnation of which is the Unitree Go2.
The Unitree Go2 has found a place not just in the world of education and research but also within several industries where it is often deployed to investigate potentially hazardous or risky situations that arise in construction, mining and similar activities. The basic model of the Go2 is highly affordable but other versions , all with increased performance include the Unitree Go2 Air, Unitree Go2 Pro and the top of the range Unitree Go2 Edu, all of which offer exceptional functionality and value. Features that differentiate the Go2 Edu from the rest of the range include increased endurance, fast charging and the option of including Nvidia Jetson Orion.
At MiRobot we are committed to bringing you the very best of the robotics world, so alongside the outstanding Unitree Go2 we bring your attention to the superb Booster K1 humanoid robot, a lightweight and compact robot that has been primarily developed for research and educational purposes but is widely used within robotics competitions. Slightly larger than the K1 is the Booster T1 humanoid robot which still offers great movement and flexibility with 22 degrees of freedom.
To find out more about either the Unitree Go2 quadruped robots or the Booster K1 and T1 please don’t hesitate to contact us at MiRobot.
